11/27/2022 0 Comments Fake app download![]() ![]() We didn't install any of these apps to an actual physical smartphone or tablet.Įven with this precaution in place, we were careful to not enter any of our personal or account information into any of these apps. In conducting our tests, we employed emulation software to simulate a mobile computing environment. You could be putting yourself at risk by doing so. I would still love to see this added thoughĪ very very solid v1.We DO NOT recommend that anyone download or install any Bovada app just to see what it does. A quick prompt to fill in the name would be quick but I guess you could submit the form manually after tweaking the value in the name field etc. In a call centre environment etc you are going to be processing this stuff in real time while on the call so you won't be recalling a list of names from a json file or xml etc. ![]() A form could be exactly the same for each customer 99% of the time and all that would be different would be the name. I know this could be done by using applescript or javascript to prompt and store the variable but it seems to be such an obvious and straight forward omission which could further enhance the product by being added in directly. It should have a Prompt with dialog box to set a variable option included. One thing I can see that is missing is on the Set Variable action. I can only imagine the amount of time and speed up that I would have occurred by using this app to file out repetitive business form data for customers. I'm just playing with the trial now in personal review and it is incredibly good. Suggestion to iTod: for the folks who are obviously missing the point of this App or for those who need some prodding, maybe a few 'recipe' workflows -and the ability to load them from menu (ala Safari/WebKit's Debug Menu) might be a good next feature. It's not obvious to endusers what this is for or "why they're paying for a browser." I *can* tell you that Fake is very welcome, as opposed to say, "Learn Java, and then hook into App X to automate this." Fake & Apps like this have high learning curves. Judging by the bugfixes that are coming heavy & often, iTod has been VERY responsive to folks actively using this. If you need a more UNfriendly application to compare Fake to, try Selenium (). I'm semi-retired from the web space, but I *do* have a couple friends who've used Fake for 'online reputation management' as well as some other garden variety things. I dl'd the App, tested a couple routines, and thought, 'man this is useful'. ![]() Thanks, iTod! The name 'Fake' is an instant cue to web/SQA Testers as 'fake user' and NOT what the wannabe infosec luser blathered about. Okay, for the rest of you, here we go:įake is a Mac-friendly web-testing app by the maker of Fluid, which MOST Mac users know and love. But you have to promise not to bury any more helpful comments like you have been doing. RonL, if you promise to GO AWAY and never post here again, I'll give you a Mini-Review. Fake's proprietary secret sauce is in its web automation capabilities: the Action library, and Workflow side pane. All of Fake's automation features are powered by OS X's native scripting tool, AppleScript, which means Fake can be used to incorporate web automation into many other OS X scripting tasks.įake's browser component is based on the same open source technology behind the popular OS X site-specific browser, Fluid. Developers can use Fake for graphically configuring automated tests for their webapps, including assertions. Power-users will love Fake for automating tedious web tasks like filling out lengthy forms and capturing screenshots. Inspired by Apple's Automator application, Fake looks like a combination of Safari and Automator, and allows you to run (and re-run) "fake" interactions with the web. The Fake workflows you create can be saved, reopened, and shared. Fake allows you to drag discrete browser actions into a graphical workflow that can be run again and again without human interaction. Fake is a new browser for OS X that makes web automation simple. ![]()
